"Solo Flight"
(c)2006 Jet Dana
Give me the strength, the power, the might for this . . .
my "Solo Flight" . . .
Gliding softly 'cross the ground
whisperin wind is the only sound
'cept for my heart beatin so madly
God, I'm so scared
but I want this so badly . . .
to soar with the wind
roar with the ocean
laugh with the breezes
if I get the notion
to be rain in the springtime
mist in the fall
and the part, the one part, that I like best of all . . .
to be free . . .
truly, truly, truly, truly . . .
free.
Please don't desert me
or otherwise hurt me
I'm selfish its true
but I think you'd be too
that's prob'ly a sin
I never can win
what I'm trying to say
is just for a day . . .
pretend you're a human
launched into space
awed by the beauty
you find in this place
and when you touch down
on Earth's outer bound
you're overcome with emotion
as you see the ocean
caressing the sand
in some faraway land
with a crimson horizon
as the moon starts revisin
the day into dark
and the song of the lark
lulls you to sleep
in a place where all this
is yours to keep
if you're free . . .
truly, truly, truly truly . . .
free.
